If you are here, there is probably a lot you are carrying.

  • Trying to stay strong for your partner while quietly struggling yourself.
  • Waiting for results, scans, calls, appointments, or the next decision.
  • Feeling guilt because the issue might be yours.
  • Wondering what azoospermia, DNA fragmentation, low count, poor morphology, or failed treatment means for your future.
  • Thinking about donor conception, but feeling uncertainty, grief, fear, or resistance.
  • Feeling like fertility has taken over your relationship, sex life, work, and sense of self.
  • Tired of being told to just stay positive.

You don't need the right words or a clear head to start. Come as you are, and we'll work through it together.

Why traditional support can miss men

Most fertility support is built around women. That matters, and it should exist. But it often leaves men with nowhere to put what they are feeling.

Generic counselling rarely reaches it either, because this is not just stress to be managed. It is a man discovering that something he always took for granted is no longer guaranteed. A future he never thought to question. That is complex ground, and my clients tell me the same thing about the support they tried before: they just didn't get it.

Coaching with someone who has lived it closes that gap.

How coaching helps

Make sense of what is happening

Untangle the medical, emotional and practical threads, so you are not carrying confusion on top of everything else.

Stop carrying it alone

Talk to someone who understands male infertility from the inside, without having to explain the basics first.

Find a way forward that feels like yours

Work out what you actually want, not what you think you are supposed to want.

Shaun Greenaway, accredited transformational coach

About me

I trained as a Transformational Coach at Animas, one of the UK's most respected coaching schools. My diploma is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the highest global standard in coaching, and I have worked with men from all over the world since qualifying.

I have also undertaken further CPD in male psychology and mental health with the Centre for Male Psychology.

I combine that professional training with lived experience of male infertility, microTESE and donor conception, which creates a style of fertility coaching men rarely find anywhere else.

What clients say

“Having coaching sessions with Shaun was a breath of fresh air. I felt listened to, and knowing that someone truly understood what I was going through really helped me.”

Before: Carrying deep self-blame since his diagnosis, and retreating from talking to his partner because of the uncertainty of their journey. Normal counselling had not worked and had made things worse, because they just didn't get it.

After: Out of the self-blame, and confident he can get through tough times without retreating. He leaves every session having either resolved the issue or with a plan to fix it.

Rob W, Essex

“Shaun meets you there with compassion and real understanding from lived experience. He's fully in your corner. He also helps the unit as well as you.”

Before: After years of infertility and IVF, an acute worry set in when he and his partner became pregnant with identical twins, a pregnancy carrying extra risk. Counselling had given him crisis techniques, but often felt like a clinical flow-chart with the human side missing.

After: A toolkit of regulation techniques that he still leans on through new difficulties, and a quicker route back to steady ground when things get hard.

Daniel W, Cheshire

“Shaun provides a safe space to express yourself without prejudice and gives you the time to think and come to your own conclusions.”

Before: Facing the journey alone, with no one to reach out to for advice and experiential compassion. Had tried CBT-based support and couples counselling, which focused on the process rather than the emotional impact.

After: Clearer thoughts, and more able to express his feelings with the people around him.

Max E, London

“He possesses a rare combination of genuine kindness and high-level expertise. His personal experience lends authenticity to his guidance, making it more relatable and impactful.”

Before: Deep depression, overwhelmed by anxiety, and a sense of confusion and purposelessness. Searching the internet for answers had made things worse.

After: A profound shift in perspective, renewed hope, and coping strategies that changed how he approached daily life.

Eber Oliveira, Brazil

“Being able to swap stories of the tests, procedures and overall experiences of donor conception from the male perspective was invaluable to me.”

Before: Struggling to come to terms with an azoospermia diagnosis. Multiple talking therapies had failed because he constantly had to explain male factor infertility to people who had never heard of his condition.

After: The mental fortitude to get through some dark moments, supported by someone who had been in the exact same position.

Will S, England

“I would 100% recommend sessions with Shaun to anyone who is going through infertility. He is such a lovely man and clearly cares for his clients in a friendly and professional manner.”

Before: Reeling from the news that his microTESE had not worked, unsure what to do next and fairly against donor sperm. Local counselling felt like it would not understand.

After: Understands far more about his options. He and his wife now have donor sperm frozen and are moving forward with treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Is this therapy?

No. Coaching is forward-focused: making sense of where you are, easing what you are carrying, and finding practical next steps. It is not a replacement for therapy or medical care, and if I feel therapy would serve you better, I will say so honestly.

Can my partner book this for me?

Yes, and it happens more often than you might think. Coaching works best when the man chooses to engage, but a partner opening the door is a completely valid way to start.

What if I do not know what I need?

That is normal, and often the whole point. The first session is about unpacking what is going on and working out what support actually fits, even if that turns out not to be coaching.

What if I am considering donor conception?

I have lived this decision myself. Coaching gives you space to process the uncertainty and resistance that can come with it, with no pressure towards any particular outcome. The decision stays yours.

What if we are still waiting for results?

Waiting is often the hardest part of the whole journey. You do not need answers before you start. Coaching can help you manage the uncertainty rather than be consumed by it.

What if I have already tried counselling or support groups?

Many of my clients have. The difference here is working with someone who has lived male infertility, so there is nothing to explain and no context to justify. Just support from the inside, with a practical focus on what comes next.

Is everything confidential?

Yes. Everything you share stays between you and me, with the standard exception of a serious risk of harm to yourself or others.

Do you give medical advice?

No. I am not a medical professional and will never advise on treatment decisions. What I do is help you think clearly, so the decisions you make with your clinical team feel like yours.

Not ready for coaching? That is completely fine. The Male Fertility Hub is free, confidential and full of men who get it. Start there, and coaching will be here if you ever want it.

You don't have to figure this out on your own.

Whether you need one focused session or ongoing support through the months ahead, there is a way to start today.
